This degree has an instinct for how to blend energies in such a way as to produce specific effects. Its knowledge is highly non-objective and comes primarily from inspiration and an ability to sense what the result of these blends will be. When expressing the self, subtle emphasis is placed in just the right way to create a desired sensation. The feeling is reminiscent of Japanese aesthetics.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “An ancient gold scarab lying in the sand.” Here things that are simplified to their essentials in such a way that they carry a Piscean quality of indefinable wonder. This degree expresses eternal truths in a condensed format, and often in such a hidden way that even though the essence of magic comes through, it lingers there in a way so subtle and transparent that it can't be clearly defined or directly seen. The scarab carries an aura about it that recalls the mystery and sublimity of antiquity – just as the perfumes of the Omega Symbol do.

It wants others to understand the significance of things, and to see how the past has produced the results of the present. It is especially adept at bringing forth lost or forgotten information which can enrich present knowledge.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A satyr gazing at his reflection in a pond.” To peer into one's animal side looking back at you from the depths of the subconscious, and to befriend it – this is what this symbol is trying to do. If you try to deny or ignore this energy, you will always be drawn back to it, as it will be drawn to you. If you try to civilize it, it will elude you. If you are timid or fearful, the vision of this primitive you can be frightening. The more you can own it and love it, though, the stonger you will connect yourself to the joy and power of your earth being. The challenge is to accept and not complexify – to make friends with and integrate this wild inner being. Then you will deeply have learned the secrets of the ancient city of the Omega Symbol.

In times of hardship this degree keeps on going. There is a complete acknowledging of and a conforming to limitations – a continual compromising as it moves on through confining or frustrating situations by doing whatever has to be done to maintain a forward flow. A gentle, flexible interaction with the world's densities is its power.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A snake charmer.” The only way you can charm the snake is to get in tune with it. This is not about having power over the snake, it is about melding to its consciousness and following its dance. This degree is adept at following the dances of others, at tracking with them in such a way that discord and misunderstanding are let go of – at least for awhile, so that an exchange of energies can occur – which always promotes deep understanding.

Its helps others to be more aware of the constant presence of change in life, and hence a need to completely savor and enjoy the moment. It tunes people into the tremendous abundance around them, and helps them to tap it.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A woman washes a man's feet and dries them with her hair.” The rational (male) mind is supported here by the feminine. Feet signify understanding, here purified and cleansed of all darkness by the great mother. So often objectivity manifests in a cold, detached way that actually separates itself from life. This degree is trying to bring it back into wholeness by always injecting everything with love and forgiveness, with being soft and giving everyone as many breaks as they need. And it realizes that playing a secondary role is, yes, humbling, but if it is for a higher purpose, never demeaning.

(Degree Angel: Mehiel (MAY-hee-EL) Casting Yourself in a Favorable Light,

Vivification, invigoration, enlivenment)
This degree has a lack of attachment to life and the world. It has the ability to move freely through life and to visit many places (both physically actual as well as inner emotional states) that others would not allow themselves to experience due to fear of so much change. What may seem to be chaotic behavior on the part of this degree is often seen as quite meaningful on a closer look, and part of a regimen of highly individualized learning.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A man astride a horse is drinking in its energy and power.” This degree is always aware that we are continually taking from nature, feeding on it and using it to fulfill our own purposes. If this is carried out in a respectful way, and to sustain rather than to merely indulge ourselves we find that nature is always there ready to give.

The strange and diverse objects floating down the river in the Omega Symbol are all those things which captivate us, one after the other, as we experience the world around us flowing through time. The best relationship to have with all this passing stuff is to take what we need from it, use whatever we are inspired to use for whatever we need it for, and let the rest flow on – for others downstream to use, as needed. This degree carries just this kind of pragmatic and yet spiritual attitude – when its living in tune with its dharma.

Azoth Symbol: The print of a rabbit's foot left in the soft mud of a garden.
