(165) Omega/Chandra Symbols: Pisces 16 - 20
Phase 70. Recognizing Design Beneath Disorder
Angel: JABAMIAH (ya-BA-mee-YAH) Alchemy (Transformation)
Pisces 16. A troll living under a bridge. (Omega Symbol) Manifesting/Experimental
(Degree Angel: Yeialel (YAY-a-LEL) Letting Go, Mental Force)
This degree seeks a simple, independent and often isolated existence on the periphery of human endeavors. It knows how to get along with little, and avoids complexities that might get in the way of its intensely inward focus. It has highly unique gifts and knows how to work silently and unobtrusively to make special contributions to the world – contributions that may be beyond the comprehension of others.
The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A peaceful child on a narrow ledge that overlooks a precipice.” This degree finds itself in limiting, confining situations, but rather than struggling against these takes an innocent, calm approach to them, often simply observing them and waiting. And often, this serene attitude and attentiveness will dissolve problems that seemed at first insurmountable. The precipice could be threatening, and so could the troll under the bridge. If we wish to cross the bridge, or descend into the precipice, or remove ourselves from it, we must be sensitive to what the situation requires, to what we need to do to to make the desired transition. This degree, subruled by the cautious sign of Capricorn, might be called the degree of “patient outworking.”

It is always able to find a space in which to work, and has a special gift for clearing the atmosphere so that room is made to do whatever needs to be accomplished. And if it follows its impulses, the result will always be magic working through it.
The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A kangaroo and her baby who looks out from the mother's pouch.” When a baby kangaroo is born it immediately crawls into the pouch, which is like a second womb, and which contains a nipple that it immediately affixes itself to. And so for kangaroos birth is a slow, gradual process that happens in states. It is the opposite of a creature like the horse, who falls out of the womb and within minutes is standing up. The image signifies that this degree at its highest experiences the universe as a great mother who eternally offers safety and protection. It may feel isolated and different from others, but with usually no sense of alienation. The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “White lilies blooming alone in the shade.” There are so many things in the world to confuse and distract us and to cause us to lose our way. This degree has a magical ability to return to a pristine place of clarity, simplicity and beauty. It does this by turning its focus away from all outer discord, and by letting go of goals, agendas and desires. And even though it may at times only be able to do this for a moment, it is enough to imbue any situation with a new peace, a new sense that there is a light that shines beyond the nightmare and which, if we will only be receptive to it, can guide us out of any and all quagmires of darkness.

A sense here of being complete out of touch with what is around oneself, but this being a very life supporting thing, for one is functioning as a portal to other realms. What this degree has to offer may often be overlooked or rejected by others, but tends to not elicit strong negative reactions because it is so otherworldly as to be incomprehensible. To those in need of what it has to offer there is wonderful refreshment and relief in knowing that this fabulous other universes exist and can be visited.
The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A perfect black cube sits alone in the desert.” This degree is dedicated to being itself without compromise, and doing this has most likely produced some degree of isolation from the rest of the world. The question is this: what is the value of such isolation? On the one hand, it can be a very effective way to maintain purity, and to encourage others to maintain their own integrity also. It can also evoke curiosity in others, which, as they pursue this individual who has so isolated himself can learn much about their own self. On the other hand, this isolation can be just a form of rigidity born out of fear, pride, haughtiness, etc.
The truck stop of the Omega Symbol together with the gnostic texts it's selling represents the clashing of two extremely different worlds. This may be unseemly, and jarring. It may amount to nothing – the gnostic texts may remain unsold and have to be returned to the publisher or thrown in the dumpster out back. But at least someone tried something radically different. Maybe even if this fails it might be better than blank perfection sitting alone in the desert. The fact is, as this degree evolves it will inevitably experiment with both paths.
